Alexander Blog

Alexander is great because he started the Hellenistic culture that was spread throughout Greece, Egypt, and Asia even after he died. Without Alexander, the Hellenistic culture would never have been made. He also conquered land all over Greece. Alexander achieved numerous accomplishments during his short lifetime, including his military achievements, his determination, and the Hellenistic culture.
“Military experts still consider him one of the most outstanding commanders ever. Arguably, there is no one else in history who could inspire and motivate his men like Alexander did.” Alexander was very young when he became king, and had to take on the role of a military leader. He was one of the best military leaders of all time. He conquered Persia, Egypt, and expanded his land to northwest India and the Indus River. It took Alexander the skill of being motivated and determined to even have the accomplishments.
Alexander was a very determined king who wanted the best for his empire. “Alexander of Macedon had conquered Persia. Now he was determined to expand his empire all the way to India.” When his father died and did not conquer Persia like he wanted to, Alexander stepped up and conquered it himself. Without the determination of Alexander he wouldn’t be as known as he is today. With Alexander’s determination, he gathered many different cultures and combined them all to make the Hellenistic culture.
The Hellenistic culture is one of many things that Alexander achieved in his life. He combined a great deal of cultures together to make the Hellenistic culture come alive. “The Hellenistic kings who followed him adopted similar court practices, emphasis on their relationship to divinity, and continued Alexander's Hellenizing policy.” The Hellenistic culture stayed around even after Alexander died.
Alexander created the Hellenistic culture that continued to thrive after his death. His victory in the military still inspires people to be like him. His strength and determination really played a huge role in his victories throughout his life. He honestly would not have been the great military leader he was without it. Alexander earned his name, and truly was and still is great because of his determination and military skills that many people look up to today.
